Hi, I'm Leah!
Leah Felty is a bi-racial Chicana Character Designer/Illustrator. She is also a graduating first-generation student, earning her BFA in Animation at Cal-State Long Beach. She values chameleon-like versatility in her work. Leah sees the world with a child-like sense of wonder that she will always fight fiercely to protect. Some of her favorite characters are those who are misunderstood or live on the fringe. She loves working with characters who are imperfect, resilient, and a little wild!
Leah has recently been selected as a partial scholarship recipient for the 2026 CTN Character Design Mentorship with Torsten Schrank (Lead Character Designer on "Klaus"). In 2025, she was a scholarship recipient of the CTN Animation Workshop in Korea with Professor Mike Nguyen (Previously Disney, DreamWorks, and Warner Bros.). Before that, Leah studied Renaissance Art abroad in Florence, Italy as a Gilman International Scholarship recipient and she interned at Snapchat making 2D and 3D assets for Augmented Reality Lenses.
Here dream is to work internationally as an animation concept artist. Her goal is to be known as a research-based, character-driven concept artist who can gain deeper insight into various cultures, understand the shared human experience, and then distill that into the visual language of film and illustration in a way that connects people, while promoting cross-cultural empathy.
