Adaptation of a Korean Shamanic Folktale about the first Shaman (Mudang), patron saint of Shamans and the guardian of souls in the underworld. This tale is often sung by Shaman women during death rituals at funerals. Summary: Born to a King and Queen, Bari (meaning abandoned) was discarded at birth for being born as the 7th daughter. The King, enraged by having no male heirs, sent her down a river in a basket. With the god's protection, Bari was found and raised by a loving elderly couple and grew up on a farm, not knowing her royal origins. Years later, the King and Queen are stricken with sickness by the gods for their cruelty and Bari is the only one who can journey into the underworld and secure the magical waters that will heal them. This is a tale of compassion, grace, breaking-the-cycle, and female power in a Confucian society that often values men over women.

Original story about the origin of the historic Viking warriors called Berserkers who, legend has it, would transform into giant bears and wolves during battle. Summary: To save her village and defend her land from being conquered by invading Christians, 11-yer old Princess Skali faces famous trials from Norse mythology. With the help of the gods Loki, Thor, and Odin, she sets out in search of Mimir's Well at the roots of the great World Tree Yggdrasil, which will grant her people the power to transform into fierce beasts in battle, known as Berserkers.

Following my study abroad semester in Italy, I combined elements from my own Mexican culture and the motifs of Black-Plague era Venice, Italy. Summary: Despite the sweeping plague, Prince Prospero holds a Venetian style Masquerade ball to celebrate the famous "Carnival". For his cruel hubris, he and his guests are visited by the Red Death, represented by combining "La Santa Muerte", the Mexican Saint of Death, with European Plague Doctors.

Serafina is the headmistress of an orphanage for lost souls. She takes care of ghosts who are stuck in limbo because they are lost, forgotten, or have nowhere to go, and have not been able to move on in the afterlife. She is stern but kind and cares deeply for her undead friends. She gives them ghostly activities, attention, and a loving home to prevent them from becoming unhappy and turning into dangerous poltergeists. Modeled in ZBrush and Maya. Painted in Adobe Substance Painter. Designed, modeled, rigged, skin-weighted, textured, and posed by me.

Adaptation of one of my favorite fairytales, "The Pied Piper of Hamlin". Done in a graphic style, The Piper appears as a menacing shadow and, using his demonic flute, he controls the minds of rats and forces them to drown themselves in a nearby lake. When he is tricked and denied payment for helping the village of Hamlin with their infestation, he becomes and enraged and uses his flute to control the village children instead. In this sinister version of the tale, he has the children walk one by one into the same lake, where they drown as the rest of the village watches, helpless to save them.
